Take on an EAZA role

EAZA is its Members, EAZA is you! See below the various ways in which you can get more involved in the processes of your Association.

Become...

... an Academy tutor

Sharing knowledge and skills is the key to ensuring our community continues to progress. We are proud to collaborate with a variety of experts in their field.

Would you like to share your expertise and teach on a course? Please complete the EAZA Academy CV  and send it to April Adams.

... a screener

EAZA Members are expected to hold to the highest standards in animal care, conservation education, and facility management as defined by our Codes and Standards. Screeners encourage and enforce these Standards, and share their knowledge and experience with fellow EAZA Member facilities through hands-on screening missions.

Screening missions vary from a two days/one night to a four days/three nights commitment, depending on the size of the facility and available travel options. All travel costs will be paid for by the applicant institution. You need only volunteer your time and knowledge.

Any senior member of management with five years of experience at an EAZA Full Member institution - this includes directors, veterinarians, educators and curators - is welcome to join our team of screeners. Please fill out this information form to express your interest.

Your participation in the EAZA Accreditation Programme is very much appreciated and acknowledged, and we look forward to working with you.

... a TAG, Committee or Working Group Member

Taxons Advisory Groups (TAGs), Committees and Working Groups are often looking for people to get involved in their work.

Make sure you have access to the EAZA Member Area and have subscribed to our monthly newsletter. A list of vacant positions is available on the home page of the Member Area, along with the procedure to apply for them. Calls for TAG's and Committee's members are published in the eNews.

Feel free to connect with the relevant TAG, Committee or Working Group to express your interest. You will find the contact details on the Member Area too.

... an EEP Coordinator

More than 500 species are managed by an EAZA Ex situ Programme (EEP). Each EEP fulfils specific role(s) and goal(s) and is overseen by a Coordinator and a Species Committee, all being volunteers from the EAZA membership. They use science and sophisticated record-keeping systems to plan for the best way to achieve these goals and give recommendations for animals in the population to move or stay where they are, breed or refrain from breeding.

You can find all vacant EEP Coordinator positions for programmes that are already established on the Member Area. Contact the relevant TAG Chair to express your interest in the role.
