EEP pages

EAZA Ex situ Programmes (EEPs) are population management programmes for over 500 animal species, coordinated by experts from EAZA Membership. They are the cornerstone of teamwork and collaborative efforts in the EAZA community.

EEP pages

The aim of EEPs is to have and maintain healthy and thriving populations of healthy animals within EAZA and beyond. Together with Regional Species Plans and Long-term Management Plans, EEPs are one of the pillars of EAZA's population management structure. The roles of EEPs are defined jointly by experts from the EAZA community, their partners from the field, and relevant conservation authorities.

EAZA currently manages EEPs for over 500 different species. A selection of these EEPs have their own EEP page so that you can learn more about their different roles, their partner organisations, the number of animals in the programme, and more.

Are you working at an EAZA Member institution? Click on the Member Area link on each page for specialised documentation and calls for action.
