 ALPZA

ALPZA - Latin American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums. EAZA has signed a Memordandum of Understanding covering cooperation with ALPZA.

EAAM

European Association for Aquatic Mammals (EAAM) - dedicated to the welfare of marine mammals through research, medical care, training, education, conservation, management and related activities. EAZA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the EAAM.

EAZWV

European Association of Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians - The EAZWV promotes the advancement of veterinary knowledge and skill in the field of zoo and wild animals. EAZA has signed a Memorandum of Undrstanding with the EAZWV.

 ISIS

International Species Information System - ISIS supports zoos and aquariums with the world standard zoological data collection and sharing software, used by almost all EAZA members.

EUAC

European Union of Aquarium Curators (EUAC) - Under the terms of an MoU the EAZA Aquarium Committee is identical to the EUAC Committee. The two organisations cooperate closely on areas of common interest, particularly through the running of managed breeding programmes through the Fish and Aquatic Invertebrates TAG (FAITAG).

Visitor Studies Association - a professional organisation committed to understanding and enhancing visitor experiences in informal learning settings through research, evaluation, and dialogue.

ZooLex Zoo Design Organisation - a non-profit organisation established to help improve holding conditions for wild animals in captivity by providing free information about zoo design.

One of the key objectives of EAZA and its members is the furtherance of wildlife conservation, both through internationally coordinated breeding programmes of wild animals and in situ conservation. Below is a list of key international conservation organisations.

Bushmeat Crisis Task Force - a consortium of conservation organisations and scientists dedicated to the conservation of wildlife populations threatened by commercial hunting for sale as meat.

CBD

Convention on Biological Diversity - an international treaty to sustain the rich diversity of life on Earth.

 CBSG

 Conservation Breeding Specialist Group - CBSG's mission is to save threatened species by increasing the effectiveness of conservation efforts worldwide.

Conservation International

Conservation International - a non-profit organisation that applies innovations in science, economics, policy and community participation to protect the Earth's biodiversity.

IUCN

IUCN - the International Union for Conservation of Nature supports scientific research and manages field projects all over the world, bringing governments, NGOs, UN agencies, companies and local communities together. EAZA is a member of the IUCN and works closely with the IUCN-SSC (see below).

Large Herbivore Foundation

Large Herbivore Foundation - an independent international nature conservation NGO, the LHF is committed to the conservation and restoration of Large Herbivore species, their communities and their habitats, landscapes and large ecosystems in Eurasia.

IUCN-SSC

Species Survival Commission - the IUCN SSC is a science-based network of volunteer experts from all over the world, all working towards achieving a world that values and conserves present levels of biodiversity. It oversees more than 100 Specialist Groups and Task Forces.

WWF - the World Wildlife Fund is a global conservation organisation that acts locally through a network of over 90 offices in over 40 countries around the world.

ZCOG

Zoo Conservation Outreach Group a non-profit coalition of North American zoological facilities dedicated to assisting Latin American zoos and aquariums in their regional wildlife and habitat conservation efforts.
